I am an award-winning author who has written several books on local history and has recently released her first Young Adult novel. I am also a freelance writer whose work has been seen in local, regional, national and international publications as well as the online juggernaut CNN.com. I am a double graduate of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College near Terre Haute, Indiana with a bachelors degree in professional writing and a masters degree in education. I have appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show, Hoosier History Live, and am a regular guest on WIBC’s First Day. I am married and I have two sons. In my spare time, I have been known to sing in various rock bands.
