The world is changing . . . . . . and no one sees the danger. However, one man – accidentally imbued with extraordinary powers – could be the answer to it all.

As visions compel him on a journey involving the legendary Excalibur and The Lady of the Lake, Arthur finds himself in England. The irresistible call brings him to the famous London Institute of Psychic Research, where he meets Ruth.

The feisty, red-headed doctor wants nothing to do with the arrogant American, but her boss and the Commander of MI-6 have other plans. Believing the beautiful scientist is the key to controlling and weaponizing Arthur’s abilities, they force the pair to work together.

Ruth has no choice but to tag along, finding it increasingly difficult to fight her growing attraction for Arthur. However, when a camping trip along Lake George suddenly turns into a military expedition, the doctor realizes the precarious predicament she’s in. And her unwanted partner isn’t the only source of concern.

There are more secrets hidden beneath the dark waters than anyone imagined. And, strangely, unknown forces are causing Arthur’s senses to go wonky. He’s losing control.

Will he be able to recover his powers and prevent WWIII? Find out in The Secret of Excalibur, FREE on Story Origin.

It’s weird how every woman reacts differently. How each pregnancy differs.

Mine is definitely unique.

My sense of smell became stronger, picking up the faintest odors, and my stomach was in constant turmoil. Those were the first signs.

And then I started eating. And eating. If I don’t, I get a migraine and people’s faces become blurry. Electronics seem to malfunction in my presence. And the nightmares—they don’t stop.

Something is changing my body.

Something that should have never happened.

Something that my husband and I had prevented from happening.

Something people say is miraculous.

The bigger I get, the more frequently I encounter people who become possessed. And the more often I wind up questioning if I am carrying a miracle baby.

The closer I get to the due date, the more I love this child and the more confident I am that I will protect my baby from anything.

Even its fate.

Wanda’s Wand – an early review

WandaWandKindleCover

Woke up to an awesome five star review on Readers’ Favorite for my upcoming picture book, Wanda’s Wand.

“Independence is a good thing, but sometimes we’re all just a little too independent. When something goes wrong or gets broken, we feel compelled to fix the problem ourselves. But sometimes our fixer-uppers just don’t work right. That’s what happened to Wanda. While playing with her cat, Whiskey, Wanda Wizzlewoop (I love the last name, great alliteration!) broke her wand. She concocts a means to fix it, but her fixer-upper wand does everything backward, upside down and really strange – like casting a spell to stop the rain and instead it rains frogs and toads. Not exactly what Wanda had in mind. Upset, she’s startled when Whiskey asks her what’s wrong and then informs her, quite simply, that “it’s okay to ask for help”. And it is okay. Something we all need to do from time to time.

“Deborah Kupfer’s picture book story, Wanda’s Wand, is a fun read. Young readers will find Wanda’s situation both sad and, at times, rather funny. Accompanied by colorful illustrations by artist Tina Wijesiri, the story is full of silliness as Wanda’s situation worsens with each attempt to make use of her broken (and then mended) wand. Part of growing up is learning how to fix things, how to solve problems, but it’s also about learning to ask for and accept help when the need arises. A powerful message shared with the love and compassion of a young witch and her treasured cat. The language is simple to appeal to young readers and may also be used as a read-along, early reader for those beginning to read.”

Introducing Adana the Earth Dragon – The Small Brown Dragon Who Can Do Big Things

“The pea soup has spoken,” said Caradog. “You are destined for Londinium.”
“Londinium?” asked Miri.
“It was the ancient city from which London sprang. The P.A.W.S. Institute of Londinium is the oldest in the world. It started before the city of today existed and straddles the old and the new. Unfortunately, today it is run by a fool.”

Join Miri as she continues her journey through Umbrae and Londinium with the help of werecats, wild warlocks, an old dog, a duck, and a whole lot of pea soup.

The P.A.W.S. Saga continues with Londinium.

Need to catch up?

You can do that all in one place with a brand new box set of books 1 to 3. Now available on Amazon.

The Other Inheritance – Reboot!

toiad

Suddenly, the air surrounding her began to ripple like the after-effects of a rock being thrown onto the smooth surface of a lake. A quiet buzzing started and grew with the intensity of a motorboat assaulting her ears. Reggie trembled as Rhys grabbed her, pulling her toward him slowly as if the ripples had current. His tall frame bent around her body, blocking her view and offering what protection he could as a wave of icy pain crashed into her. She screamed, and he shuddered.

“He’s here,” Rhys shouted in her ear. “He’s breached my defenses, you need to leave now! I’ll contact you again.”

Oh God, she hurt. She felt like shards of ice were being thrust into her skin. Blackness began to descend. “Wait!” she cried. “How will you contact me?” She needed Rhys. He was her only guide through this terrifying new world, and she battled to stay conscious.

“I’ll send someone from my world to you. Now wake up!”

Reggie clutched at him. “Promise? Promise!” “I promise! Wake up!”

A dark whirlpool sucked her down and out. Reggie’s eyes opened, meeting blackness. She couldn’t breathe. An impenetrable layer wrapped around her body, drowning her, and she thrashed around in panic. Clenching the layer in two fists, she was surprised to feel softness. Reggie stopped moving. She relaxed her grip and cautiously felt along the material. The cocoon she was trapped in was her comforter. Shaky laughter burst from her as she began to unravel herself. Finally, cool air hit her face, and she gulped in its sweetness.

“What have I fallen into?” Reggie whispered. Sitting up, she discovered she was no longer on the bed but on the hard wooden floor. Between dreaming and waking, she must have rolled off. Pain shot through her lower back. Her chest was tight with the force of her breathing.

“It was just a dream, they can’t get you here,” she said aloud, trying to convince herself. But when she attempted to stand, the world tilted and she landed back on the comforter with a soft thud. The pain radiating from her temples to her toes was a stark reminder that nothing was what it seemed anymore. Dreams were all too real. Maybe Rhys was right; maybe she wasn’t safe here anymore. Tucking her knees to her chest, Reggie rocked back and forth, tears rolling down her cheeks.
